Description

There are quite a few bean to bar chocolate makers to be found in Scandinavia. The award-winning hero Friis Holm in Denmark may be pulling the cart a bit, and Omnom from Iceland also sets the tone in a quirky way.

But fine chocolate is also made in other places. We already had standout in our range, and we appreciate the clear flavors in their chocolates with 2 ingredients.

Now Fjåk is added. From Norway. Also makers of a nice series of single origin chocolates, now with some added cocoa butter. But again – as with Standout – we taste very ‘clear’ flavors. And we appreciate that.

And – now again – completely organic.

In that respect, Standout & Fjåk are well-matched, and a lot of fun for all more ‘advanced’ chocolate tasters to taste and compare side by side. But also very nice to taste in itself. The clear flavor profile makes it fun for a tasting anyway – whether you start with tasting chocolates or do so more often. With chocolates like this it is easy to discover how much more versatile chocolate is than ‘chocolate flavor’.

Taste description of the maker: soft dark chocolate with notes of apricot and notes of lightly roasted coffee.

Ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter.
