Dark chocolate from cocoa from Ecuador – from the Los Rios area.
From cocoa tree to chocolate bar made in Ecuador.
They are very proud to say so. Why is that good? Of course, the idea is that there is more value in Ecuador itself. Of course, the chocolate eventually has to make its way to us in Europe, but now as a product that is completely finished.
We are certainly in favor of making the chocolate in the country where the cocoa comes from. But especially if the makers also make tasty chocolate. There are also many makers who make chocolate in South America or Africa but, and then we say it kindly, do not brew anything – at least not to our taste. Pacari is definitely a company that knows how to make something delicious on the spot, like Marou does in Vietnam.
Tasting note of the maker: Fruit blossom with a subtle aftertaste of guanabana and coffee.
Ingredients: Cocoa beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin.
Allergy note from the maker: may contain traces of peanuts and nuts.
Awards: 1 star at Great Taste Awards 2017. Silver at the world finals of the International Chocolate Awards 2016 & 2017.
Pacari also adds a whole series of qualifications, perhaps because they find it important, of course also as an extra piece of marketing: Organic, luxurious flavors, no soy, no artificial ingredients, gluten-free, pure ecuadorian arriba cacao, lots of antioxidants, socially responsible, vegan .
We started selling it specifically because a client advised me, but we also noticed later: This chocolate won a silver medal at the World Finals of the International Chocolate Awards.
