Amano created a dark chocolate with raspberry & rose petals – a striking combination that is also pretty tasty.
Chocolate maker Art Pollard from Amano once tasted a rose & raspberry cheesecake in the Pierre Hermé shop. And was overwhelmed. Since then he has tried to pay tribute to this special cheesecake in the form of chocolate. We do not know the cheesecake, but the chocolate may be there.
The combination with cocoa from Ecuador makes it a pleasant taste.
Tasting notes from the makers: rich dark chocolate with fresh raspberry tones followed by the beautiful fruity and floral light taste hints of roses. With crunchy pieces to make the whole even more exciting.
Ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, raspberries, rose petals, whole vanilla beans, rose extract.

The flavour combination of raspberry and rose is what attracted me to try this chocolate. Unfortunately I do not find the blend of the flavours to be very good. Additionally the crunchy sugar bits make the dark chocolate far too sweet and gives a weird experience of eating sweets. This is not how I like to eat my chocolate so I did not enjoy it. If you are put off dark chocolate because it’s normally too bitter for you, you might like it.
