Another nice alternative for milk chocolate. In this ‘milk chocolate’ with 40% cocoa cashew nuts are added instead of cow’s milk.

Made entirely in Madagascar of high quality local cocoa by Chocolaterie Robert.

The beauty is that these chocolates – even if they are sure and truly vegan – are also very suitable for those who do not necessarily feel that food is completely vegetable.

After all, the combination of chocolate with ground nuts is pretty sublime anyway. Just think of the various Gianduja chocolates. Chocolate with hazelnuts. There really does not need a gram of milk to be amazingly delicious. Well, cashew nuts are good too. And we also found this a nice bar that we have added to the assortment.

Just a little different, but very tasty. And such chocolate made entirely in Madagascar is really special. And it makes sense: that way, there is more value there and Madagascar is still one of the poorest countries in the world. In this respect, these types of chocolates – made entirely in the cocoa country – are more valuable than bars with the ‘fair trade’ label. Something to think about…

Both cocoa and cashew nuts come from Madagascar. And the bar is also made entirely there, by the chocolate factory that has been there for years, chocolate shop Robert. Easy to find on the internet if you find that interesting.

    Bijzonder! Als vegan heb ik al allerlei rijstmelkchocolades geproefd (vaak mierzoet, korrelig en niet romig), of varianten met sojamelk (al iets beter) of hazelnootcreme. Die laatste soorten (gianduja) vond ik qua vegan ‘melk’chocolades het meest geslaagd. Tenminste, totdat ik deze proefde. Deze reep met cashewcreme is weer een hele andere belevenis, maar superlekker en romig. Nu zijn (ongebrande) cashewnoten een geliefd ingredient in veel vegan gerechten van kwarktaart tot kaasvervangers, dus eigenlijk is het ook niet verbazend dat cashews ook heel goed werken in chocolade. 🙂
