Chocolate Madagascar – Vegan White Chocolate (Cashew)

Chocolat Madagascar makes all its chocolates in Madagascar – from cocoa bean to chocolate bar, right there on the African island.

That’s quite special in itself. But for those who enjoy a plant-based/vegan diet, there’s an added bonus: they make wonderfully delicious vegan chocolates.

For example, there are 40% and 65% cocoa “milk” chocolates, which are made with cashew instead of milk. We believe this is a wonderful alternative because the flavor is much more neutral than, for example, soy. And the cashew flavor naturally complements cocoa much better.

The vegan chocolates from Chocolat Madagascar are, of course, also made in Madagascar, but the makers enlisted the help of a German bonbon maker. We’ve forgotten her name, but we met her at the Chocoa chocolate festival. She’s a very nice person, a committed vegan, and it was wonderful to hear how she got involved with the makers of Chocolat Madagascar (also attending the chocolate festival in Amsterdam) and helped develop the recipes for these chocolate bars.

Anyway, we also like the white version, because there’s not that much vegan white chocolate available. It’s great that we can offer some beautiful examples. Especially since, as always, it’s made with ethically sourced, high-quality ingredients. In the case of white chocolate, specifically cocoa butter, of course.

35% cocoa, 25% cashews.

You read that right, that’s all there is to it. 3 ingredients, that’s all.
