Dutch Original Dark
Dutch Original Milk
Dutch Original Vegan
Dutch Speculaas
Dutch Mochaccino
Two flavored chocolates, speculaas and mochacino—both milk chocolates—and then there’s the lovely range of dark, milk, and vegan. All three are truly worth trying—whether you’re primarily a fan of dark or milk chocolate—these are bars that will truly surprise you. We also often recommend the vegan bar to milk chocolate lovers because it’s so different from some vegan “milk” chocolates. It’s definitely worth trying (and we’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about it).
Ingredients (for the entire set): cocoa, cocoa butter, milk, sugar, gingerbread spices, coffee, oats, coconut, banana, rice, calcium, sunflower lecithin, salt.
Contents: 5 x 35 grams, 175 grams.
Heinde & Verre – chocolate makers from Rotterdam
If you’re not familiar with Heinde & Verre yet, we’ll briefly mention it: chocolate makers from Rotterdam who work with fantastic (transparent trade) cocoa. Award-winning at the Academy of Chocolate. And beloved by chocolate lovers worldwide, their chocolates are sold from the US to Japan. Naturally, produced on a small scale, distributed on a small scale, truly something for the true chocolate connoisseur. They’re certainly also known for their cocoa roasting method, which essentially involves two different roasts—some roasted at one temperature and for a longer period, and some at a lower temperature, for example—and combining them. They also always use Dutch beet sugar and specific milk powders. Their vegan chocolate is also truly special; not just one ingredient as a milk substitute, but a sophisticated combination of (natural) ingredients.
Well, we could go on and on, and it’s wonderful to hear these gentlemen talk about the machines and the craft of chocolate making—but let’s just say that we see a real eye for detail and a passion for what they do. And we truly appreciate that. The ‘Dutch Original’ series is actually an expression of this, because in addition to their single-origin chocolates made from specific cocoa, they deliberately created this series to offer a more accessible option, specifically blends, and the application of techniques and flavors from local history. That’s a nice idea for any chocolate maker, but if your name is Heinde & Verre, then it’s really great that not only the distant (cocoa comes from far away), but also the ‘heinde’ (close by) is expressed.
