Hooray! We’ve been getting a lot of requests: do you also sell chocolate letters for Sinterklaas?

Because of course… if you love fair-trade bean-to-bar chocolate, and Sinterklaas does, you’ll want the chocolate letters made from truly fair-trade chocolate.

Thanks to the chocolate letters from Chocolatemakers, we could already give a resounding yes. But then the next question sometimes arose… is it also available in milk chocolate? Until this year, we unfortunately had to say no to that. Because the chocolate letter was available in a lovely dark version, and a vegan version with speculaas spices. But hey—we know that Sinterklaas also likes to put a good old-fashioned classic milk chocolate in the shoes every now and then. And for that too, the good saint prefers fair-trade bean-to-bar chocolate made from fair-trade cocoa.

Well, Sinterklaas, it’s finally here! The Chocolatemakers have created this delicious milk chocolate Sinterklaas letter with 47% cocoa (25% cocoa, plus cocoa butter) imported from the Dominican Republic. And yes… by sailing ship! Thanks to the beautiful Tres Hombres ship, this cocoa arrives to the Netherlands entirely powered by wind.

Made by Chocolatemakers in Amsterdam in their ethically sourced bean-to-bar chocolate factory. The factory runs entirely on solar energy thanks to its roof made of solar panels.

Ingredients: cane sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, milk powder, emulsifier (rapeseed lecithin).

Contains at least 47% cocoa. Allergy note: contains milk, may contain traces of nuts.

Plastic-free packaging. Contents: 100 grams.

Very accessible in flavor, creamy, smooth, and deliciously sweet—but you can definitely taste the quality! And if you think… wow, that cocoa also comes to the Netherlands, or rather, Spain, by sailing ship, and then onto Sinterklaas’s steamboat – that makes the story just that little bit more special. So we completely understand that these are letters that Sinterklaas (or Piet) likes to put in every shoe.

Also fun for Sinterklaas – this letter is also available in a vegan version (with Sinterklaas spices) and… also a dark chocolate letter. As many customers (and Sinterklaas) know, we’re quite fond of dark chocolate ourselves, so that version is welcome in our shoe. Thank you, Sinterklaas!
