Description
Mario Vandeneede of Chocolatoa is doing great work to support people in cocoa countries who work with cocoa to learn more about chocolate and refine the process of making chocolate.
He also traveled to Nigeria to help set up a chocolate factory for TIWA chocolate, we quote:
Made in Nigeria Chocolates!
Chocolates with a BIG Difference!
Our factory is ready. We have just concluded our Bean to Bar training with an award winning chocolate maker from Belgium Mario Vandeneede right here in our new factory in Akure Nigeria. Our world class, premium, organic chocolate products will be available in all cities in Nigeria. Soon, we will be asking the Great People of Nigeria to pre-order.
TIWA Chocolates is the first chocolate product to be produced by the cocoa farmers themselves in Africa! It is Bean to Bar. This is a game changer for cocoa farmers and their communities in Nigeria.
Nigerian cocoa farmers offer you their excellence in hard work for your chocolate pleasure! “
Mario does more projects like this, he has already helped quite a few people who wanted to make chocolate from their own cocoa. And then he actually always takes a nice stock of this cocoa home with him, where he has a chocolate factory in his backyard (yes, really) so that he can also put this cocoa in the spotlight himself. It is a nice tradition that we see him at the chocolate festival Chocoa in Amsterdam, and (if he has not sold everything yet) to buy a nice stock from him. So again this year. And that is how we can offer this beautiful chocolate, and where the supermarkets are mainly full of cocoa from Ghana and Ivory Coast or a random mix of everything (although it is not even mentioned, as if it does not matter) we think it is very nice that there are so many beautiful countries where beautiful cocoa is grown. Not to make it some kind of competition ‘cocoa from country x is the best’, ‘no, ours is better!” but to see how enormously diverse cocoa, and therefore chocolate, can be. And to taste that beautiful theobroma cacao, and to honor the beautiful work from cacao farmer to chocolate maker.
The taste of the chocolate is (for 80%) certainly on the mild side, with light fruity notes, some dark notes (espresso) – but everything quite subtle.
Ingredients: cacao, sugar, cacao butter.
Allergy note: may contain traces of milk.
Contents 50 grams.
