Fossa – Satay Sauce

A chocolate with the taste of satay sauce! When you come across it in the supermarket you think… blergh, that’s nothing.

When the chocolate heroes of Fossa from Singapore make it, you know: that could be something very special and delicious!

And as far as we are concerned, it is! The perfect combination of a fine milk chocolate (48% cocoa) with peanuts and various spices. All together a strong experience of a deliciously spiced satay sauce, but then also just very tasty to snack on!

Few makers can do that – devise and implement inclusions so that the chocolate remains intact, the additions really add a lot, you have a taste that you might say in advance… huh? And at the end of the song (or the bar) you think… wow, this is nice.

It will be because at Fossa they are simply very good at combining flavors, and are great chocolate makers (as far as we are concerned), but also because they do not work arbitrarily in the choices for additions, but draw inspiration from their own (Singaporean) environment and of personal experiences and travel. At Fossa they obviously don’t think: gee which bar are we going to make that will sell a lot, but they work much more as artists or artists. With inspiration from the environment, experiences, life to work to make something beautiful. As far as we are concerned, it is amazing how they manage to achieve some flavors with beautiful combinations so that you not only taste everything, but also really get a feeling (or all kinds of feelings), and images automatically arise, and sometimes your own memories surface. Chocolate that you feel.

Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar, cocoa butter, peanut, milk powder, cumin, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, aniseed, fennel seed, peppercorn, salt.

The chocolate is made with 48% cocoa, sourced from Kokoa Kamili in Tanzania. Content 50 grams.

These barbecue skewers are the perfect comfort food and are never served without a dipping sauce made from ground peanuts and aromatic spices. Anyone who knows and appreciates the Fossa chocolates, including their fine ‘Peanut Praliné with chilli pepper’ which is certainly comparable. However, there is added chili pepper – here no chili pepper but a sophisticated combination of other spices, which gives a completely different taste. Very nice to order together
If you like it a little spicy. It’s certainly not super sharp (it doesn’t contain any chili pepper), but still: if you really don’t like spices and if you find your food too spicy, you might just have to skip this bar.
If you don’t just want to taste chocolate, but also want to feel something about it, and dream away. At least we had that, as is often the case with Fossa chocolates.
If you want to travel without moving. Soma uses ‘Travelling without moving’ as a nice ‘slogan’. We’ll just copy it here, because it’s so appropriate. Because Fossa always gets the inspiration locally, and they are so good with flavors, with a bar like this you can really dream away to colorful and busy market streets of the past in Singapore where you found a stall on the corner. Or now the famous ‘Satay Street’ where dozens of stalls together – between the skyscrapers – is a bit more organized, but still in its own way.
