Fossa – Youtiao & Soy Milk

Youtiao are known in Singapore, where Fossa comes from, but also in a larger part of Asia as long sticks of dough that are fried.

This is combined with a white chocolate made from soy milk, apparently this combination, of the fried dough in soy milk, is also a traditional Singaporean breakfast. We have to take it from Fossa, because what do we know about it (nothing), but it is a very nice combination, and an additional advantage is that we now have a nice new vegan white chocolate in our range. In any case, as is often the case with Fossa, it is again a nice collaboration, this time of course with an original Youtiao maker, namely Xi De Li, apparently a pioneer in the Singaporean Youtiao art since the 1920s.

Soy milk and youtiao (豆浆油条) is a popular breakfast choice in old Singapore.

Youtiaos are perfectly fried golden brown strips of wheat dough. Crispy and chewy, they make great snacks on their own, but the real treat is dipping them in a warm bowl of nutritious soy milk. In this collaboration with Xi De Li, a pioneer in the youtiao industry since the 1920s, dehydrated youtiaos are combined with creamy, aromatic 38% soy white chocolate to create this classic treat in a bar.

Ingredients: Cocoa butter, soy powder, cane sugar, you tiao (wheat flour, vegetable oil, salt, sodium bicarbonate).
