Description
Another beautiful creation by Friis Holm to taste, compare and enjoy.
The Danish chocolate maker has already made a nice series of ‘La Dalia’ chocolates, under the joking motto ‘the lazy cocoa growers blend’ – not a specific cocoa variety but a mix of various cocoa varieties, but just how the cocoa farmers (all from Nicaragua, and the region La Dalia) – but not as with the other bars of a specific cocoa variety.
The La Dalia bars were already available in 60/70/80/90/100% so that you can already taste what the increasing percentage of cocoa (or the decreasing percentage of sugar) means for the taste. Now there is also this variant, the 60% version, but with cocoa nibs. In other words, 100% pure and unground cocoa in small pieces – which set small pieces 100% against the 60% percentage of the bar for a nice ‘kick’.
A chocolate to sit down to, there is a lot to discover and the nibs work in a beautiful way to make the bar – in our opinion – both more exciting and more flavoursome. Very nice to compare with the ‘normal’ La Dalia 60%, but also very suitable to enjoy separately.
Taste notes described by the maker: strong aromatic acid, blackcurrant notes and a floral sweetness.
Ingredients: cocoa beans, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa nibs.
Maker’s Allergy Note: May contain traces of milk.
