Description
From the village of Las Trincheras in Venezuela.
The men of Idilio search for the most beautiful cocoa varieties in Venezuela, buy them directly there and thus have a whole line of different chocolates – all from Venezuela. All original chocolate from Venezuela, but of course all different. The Trinchera contains 74% criollo cocoa and is conched for 48 hours.
Fun fact: we have also made a dark chocolate from Willie’s cocoa with cocoa from Las Trincheras.

Note from importer Clearchox:
In a rather dry environment, the small village of Las Trincheras Cocoa is located in a steep valley. On the slopes this beautiful cocoa grows in the shade of the trees. The valley has its own microclimate, which offers the ideal tropical conditions for this fine cocoa with abundant warm rain. After the harvest, the beans are brought to the central square by donkeys and dried in the sun.
Idilio stands for connection with nature, the diversity of the mixed culture of tropical plants and fruits, the utmost care for the cultivation and harvest of cocoa beans, the careful fermentation and drying in the sun. In Spanish, the word “idilio” means a small poem that sings the romance of life close to nature, a sweet experience, a gem. The vision of Idilio resulted in a numbered series of tablets.
abbondioro –
Superb. Intense cacao, you can feel a subtle ripe banana, earthy flavour and in my view also a bit of coffee…
