Great to have in our assortment!
As Chocolate Sellers we are located in Beek, which is right next to Nijmegen. We live very pleasantly there, in a beautiful wooded area with a view from the window of our chocolate office at home of the ridge and the forests of the famous N70 walking route, and behind our house the Ooijpolder.
An additional advantage is that Nijmegen (where we lived for a long time, and where Paul was born) is a great cycling distance away, and there are all kinds of nice things there, and one of those nice things is definitely that a very nice coffee roaster has his home base there, and that is Blommers. Especially for the weekend we really like to have Blommers coffee beans in the house, and we are always amazed by all the flavors that can come out of such a cup. Whether it is a Kenya coffee (a classic in the Chocolate Sellers household) or an exciting ‘competition lot’ for the extra special days, we are always happy with it.
Blommers had already displayed a number of special chocolates in the (web)shop a number of times, for example for the holidays, such as the beautiful Krak milk chocolate Colombia.
And the love for cocoa & chocolate turned out to be so great that they also sourced cocoa via their coffee supplier. A specifically selected cocoa from Finca Parras Lempa in El Salvador.
They had that beautiful cocoa made into chocolate in collaboration with Krak Chocolade, where they of course chose the most beautiful roasting profile in consultation for the optimal taste experience. And as far as we are concerned, it has also become a really beautiful and exciting bar, in terms of style a characteristic Krak chocolate, with that fine creamy structure, but with a completely unique taste experience.
When you smell the bar you might think of cream & subtle coffee notes, with a fairly classic chocolate (milk) scent, but when you taste it you also get fine fruity notes, wonderfully complex (do I taste pineapple there? Or this? Or that?) but without it becoming too intense – a really nice tasting adventure, – very nicely balanced and also such a very pleasant long aftertaste. Of course, the taste experience is personal, but… personally we are very impressed. In short, enjoy. And of course it is also great that El Salvador is being put on the map here because we have not tasted so many bars of cocoa from here yet.
