Description
We were really surprised when we first tasted the chocolates from Manoa. We had never tasted chocolate made from cocoa from Hawaii so often, and these bars were also made there. And… as far as we are concerned, absolutely top. And wonderful to discover a beautiful diversity with the various bars from different regions of Hawaii.
In the case of this bar, it is cocoa from Kealakekua, with a beautiful sweet taste with a nice taste profile of nuts & more. Worth discovering.
Taste described by the maker: sweet taste, with aromatic notes of flowers, pineapple, strawberry, raisins, macadamia nuts and vanilla.
Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar, cocoa butter.
The makers say about it: “Kealakekua is located on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island (the Big Island) and is hot and dry. Normally, cacao trees would not survive the harsh conditions of the lava field, but with irrigation they thrive. The cacao for this chocolate bar is grown, fermented and dried by the Hard Rock Gardens Estate in Kealakekua.”
Contents 60 grams.
Allergy note from the maker: made in a place that also processes milk, grains, peanuts, and various nuts.
Bonus: pairings recommended by Manoa: Gamay wine, brown ale beer, Islay scotch whisky.
