Why? Because this set includes a collection of six different pure origin chocolates from Marou.
As most visitors know, Marou makes beautiful chocolates from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, all in direct collaboration with Vietnamese cocoa farmers from various cocoa-producing regions. You’ll also experience the chocolate from the Ba Ria region’s delightful fruitiness, while the Dong Nai is a darker chocolate that pairs beautifully with certain dark beers or whiskeys. Each of these six chocolates truly has its own unique character, and you’ll also discover a common thread: the chocolate makers’ style in how they process the cocoa (in the oven and how they grind/conch). In short, a beautiful set for chocolate lovers, but also for aspiring chocolate lovers who want to explore.
In our opinion, Marou chocolates have a pretty strong profile, and therefore we’d say they’re not the first choice for passionate milk chocolate lovers. But for those who think dark chocolate is… wow, nice—and perhaps have no idea what cocoa is all about and that its origin matters—then this could be a very nice set to kick off your craft chocolate adventure. It also makes a great Christmas gift—not only with the contents, which are a chocolate tasting in themselves, but also, of course, with the attractive packaging wishing you Happy Holidays & Bonne Année.
