Description
A special nano-lot chocolate by Naive, in this case sourced from a specific cacao farm in Venezuela. Located in a valley next to the Henri Pittier National Park, this small plantation operates according to permaculture principles and cultivates no fewer than 13 different ancient Criollo varieties to help preserve them.
A beautiful quote from D. Dager featured on the bar:
“Those of us who work the earth know the satisfaction of being in tune with nature and enjoying its beauty every day. It’s why I do what I do — the economic reward isn’t much, but the spiritual gain is huge.”
Naive itself says the following about it:
“Both the substance and the beauty of Douglas Dager’s cacao farm are simply breathtaking. Nestled in a valley, with the lush Henri Pittier park on one side and the green mountains with their bright-yellow araguaney trees on the other, the tiny permaculture plantation is perfectly in tune with nature, organically enriching the soil with earthworm biohumus that is freshly produced on the farm. And that’s not even the best part — 13 — yes, 13! — ancient Venezuelan criollo cacao varieties are grown on the plantation, making Douglas Dager’s farm one of the most exclusive plantations on Earth. It’s impossible to overstate the importance of this ancient cacao preservation project; instead, please support Douglas’s work by enjoying this chocolate, made exclusively from his rare cacao.”
Tasting notes: nutty, creamy, lightly fruity without being acidic.
Maker’s description: subtle and enchanting, with a soft, delicate flavour and a hint of fruitiness.
The cacao used is a blend of different ancient Venezuelan Criollo varieties — ranging from Chuao to Porcelana and Ocumare.
Ingredients: nano-lot cacao, cocoa butter, cane sugar.

A beautiful chocolate for lovers of rare and special Criollo cacao.
