Description
From Georgia Ramon, a dark chocolate with two types of pepper—Malabar and Kubeben. Malabar pepper is a variety of black pepper from the Malabar Coast region in Kerala, India. Kubeben pepper is a close relative of black pepper and grows in Indonesia. It looks like black pepper but with a small “tail” on the bulb, which is why it’s also called tailed pepper.
No peppers with intense heat, but rather a wealth of spicy flavors. It’s great that Georgia Ramon combines these two peppers in this bar. Especially since Georgia Ramon’s most famous (and for those who can’t handle heat: most notorious) chocolate is the one with the extremely hot Carolina Reaper pepper. A very small amount has been added to the bar, and we think it’s perfectly manageable, but we’ve also received comments from people who find it incredibly hot. In short, this bar highlights a different aspect of pepper—less about heat and more about flavor. This flavor pairs beautifully with the chocolate. That won’t apply to everyone, though, because while many people love the spicy flavor notes combined with the chocolate, that’s simply not the case for everyone. Moreover, there are always people who find these peppers spicy. That’s simply a matter of personal preference.
We think it’s a beautiful creation, and completely organic too.
