Description
Surprisingly soft and tasty 100% chocolate. We think it’s a very nice copy!
Made whole – bean to bar – in Kampala, Uganda. Latitude already made a nice selection from white, via milk to dark chocolate. Now also to the extreme pure, namely this chocolate bar made with 100% cocoa.
Latitude works entirely in Uganda where they work directly with 2500 (organic working) cocoa farmers. The company sells the cocoa to various chocolate makers around the world, but now also makes its own chocolate. Nice, in addition to the fact that it is fine fair cocoa, it is also nice that chocolate is made where the cocoa is grown.
The taste… Latitude states on the packaging: ‘Naturally sweet dark cocoa chocolate for people with the cajones for the real adventure’ – we do not find that a recommendation – but that the chocolate for a chocolate completely without sugar (really 100 % cocoa) is remarkably sweet, certainly – but therefore quite accessible for a 100% bar. Yes, whoever wants to taste 100% chocolates and is not familiar with it may need a little push, or not shy away from the adventure, but to start now about cajones. Anyway – in our opinion a nice variant from the sugar-free chocolates with a pleasant sweetness, slightly sour, slightly roasted taste tones, and a long-lasting aftertaste – in short – we definitely recommend it.
By the way, the packaging can certainly be further, as far as we are concerned – the outside of the Latitude bars has its own color and drawing for each chocolate and the inside is full of interesting facts – very nice that you can read up (for example, about the exact cocoa price that the cocoa farmers – $2.30 per kilo – over 50% higher than cocoa prices in Ghana/Ivory Coast) while enjoying the chocolate.
Ingredients: cocoa beans.
Allergy note from the makers: may contain traces of nuts, peanuts, soy, egg and grains.
