Taza makes her chocolates in the USA and always specific: roughly ground so that you keep a grainy structure, and which gives a completely different experience when you taste the chocolate. A very ‘rustic’ feeling, but the sugar is also emphasized a little extra and the mouthfeel is completely different from more finely ground chocolates. Well, definitely nice to experience. Some people don’t like it, others prefer nothing else – it really is chocolate that divides opinions – but in texture it is quite unique and also characteristic of Taza, so we definitely recommend trying one of their chocolates. There are differences in texture in chocolates with each maker, or whether the chocolate maker chooses to grind one chocolate just a bit coarser than the other, but Taza is the ultimate example of a choice for very rough grinding. They also convey this on the packaging, almost as a kind of warning, which says ‘perfectly unrefined’ and ‘stone-ground’.

About this chocolate: Gingerbread Cookie
This chocolate is made specifically for Christmas, or more generally for the winter days there. Gingerbread Cookies are ground in the chocolate – you know, those gingerbread cookies in the shape of men, as you know from the so often present (sometimes peaceful) Christmas episode of American series, or maybe you make them yourself. Of course with the characteristic gingerbread spices in it.

Elsewhere, a great enthusiast wrote: “This Gingerbread Cookie Taza Dark Chocolate Bar is absolutely amazing! The chocolate definitely delivers a great gingerbread taste, with prominent holiday flavors of ginger, cinnamon, and cloves! The bar itself has a coarse texture, almost as if it had actual ground gingerbread cookies inside of it.”

In other words, a real chocolate for the holidays. Also in this bar unmistakably the rough structure – and with 60% cocoa on the sweet side – or at least not so pure that it will scare someone off. And it can also be a great choice for milk chocolate lovers – even if it contains no milk and is vegan.

Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar, ginger biscuits (full oat flour, sugar, pear juice, safflower oil, taopioca starch, molasses, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, tartar, xanthan gum, cloves, rosemary extract), cocoa butter, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg , salt.

As you can see from the ingredients: Taza really just mixed the gingerbread cookies with the chocolate – and finally added some extra spices for an even more wintery taste. All in all, a powerful taste experience – and the characteristic intriguing structure – a chocolate where we ourselves make a
