Description
A lovely dark chocolate with the essence of bitter orange, also known as Citrus × aurantium. In Dutch, this fruit is called “zure sinaasappel” (sour orange) or “pomerans.” In any case, it is a wonderfully intense citrus fruit with both sour and bitter notes, believed to have originated as a cross between pomelo and wild mandarin, and widely cultivated in China.
In this 60% chocolate — relatively sweet for a dark chocolate — the citrus flavor comes through beautifully. In our opinion, it gives a great impression of what this rather exotic citrus fruit has to offer. And all of that in a smooth, approachable organic dark chocolate, entirely made in Ecuador.
Ingredients: organic fine Arriba Nacional cocoa, organic whole cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, emulsifier: organic sunflower lecithin, organic mandarin-lime essence.
Contains at least 60% cacao. Net weight 50 grams. Made in Quito, Ecuador.
Awarded, among others, a Gold medal at the International Chocolate Awards World Final 2019.
Also organic, fair trade, B Corp certified, pareve, and vegan. Now you know.
