Paccari – Dark chocolate with lavender

Description

A distinctive chocolate with a touch of lavender added (in the form of an essence, an essential oil) by Paccari from Ecuador.

We already appreciate Paccari’s chocolates in general — their chocolates made with unroasted (raw) cacao from Ecuador, their single-region Ecuadorian cacao bars, and also these flavored creations. They have quite a large range, and to be honest, we deliberately do not carry too many of them. We have tasted many more, but sometimes our reaction was simply “meh,” at least in our opinion.

Chocolate with pepper is often fun, and additions such as lemongrass and lemon verbena also struck us as interesting (and tasty). This lavender chocolate is another one we really enjoy. Not because it is the ultimate chocolate-and-lavender combination ever made — for that, milk chocolate might actually work even better — but precisely because this approachable dark chocolate (60% cacao), with its relatively sweet profile, pairs beautifully with the flavor of lavender. This bar proves that wonderfully. It makes for a lovely chocolate for people who already know Paccari’s chocolates, as well as for anyone who enjoys the combination of lavender and chocolate.

We already carried a lovely milk chocolate with lavender, and also a dark lavender chocolate, from Rozsavolgyi Csokolade in Hungary. And one from Fossa Chocolate with lavender and Earl Grey. So we are happy to add another lavender bar to our assortment — this time in a smooth and accessible style. We hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients: organic fine Arriba Nacional cocoa, organic whole cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, emulsifier: organic sunflower lecithin, organic lavender essence (0.1%).

Contains at least 60% cacao.
