Description
To make a beautiful cup of hot chocolate, Pump Street has something really nice, namely this tin with drinking chocolate. No cocoa powder, but shaved chocolate – with 70% cocoa from West Papua (Ebier Suth Cokran Coöperatie) with flavour notes of almond, olive oil and cherry.
For such a tin (200 grams) you will of course pay a bit more than if you buy a packet of cocoa powder from the supermarket, but it is also something completely different. By the way, you don’t have to look in the supermarket for cocoa powder (that jet-black alkalised stuff, chemically processed to make it taste a bit decent), we also have beautiful forms of that, which are just pure nature, and which we also like to make hot chocolate with occasionally, for example the cocoa powder from Marou. We do add sugar to that ourselves. But it is also very nice to make hot chocolate with chocolate and not just cocoa powder, for a nice full flavour – the cocoa butter makes the whole thing even richer. And yes, you can also shave a chocolate bar or melt it into small pieces, that works fine too, but then you need 3 Pump Street bars for this amount, and then the price quickly increases, that’s why we are very happy that they made these beautiful cans of drinking chocolate – yes, it is still expensive, but making a special cocoa drink every now and then is also worth something. And of course, from single origin fair cocoa, that is also worth (a lot), especially when you consider that cocoa in chocolate milk is the very poorest quality, and there is often very little in it, in the supermarkets.
By the way, not only single origin, but even single farm – because it comes from one specific cocoa farm, still extra nice.
With flavor notes of nuts, mild, sweetness, and light notes of cherry.
Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar, cocoa butter.
Contents 200 grams. Allergy note from the makers: May contain traces of milk, gluten, egg nuts and sesame
