Description
Raaka calls the bar itself ‘Bananas Foster’ to the dessert that apparently originated in New Orleans and consists of banana with vanilla ice cream topped with a sauce of butter, brown sugar & rum.
In this bar, chocolate (fruity, Peru – from CAC Pangoa) with added the banana and (real) vanilla. Fruity but also nicely balanced, and as always at Raaka, the cocoa is unroasted, without this in our opinion detracts from the taste, special.
Taste description of the makers: very fruity, berries, cherry.
Ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, banana, vanilla. (all USDA Organic, organic certified)
Furthermore, soy-free, nut-free, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and non-GMO. Yes, in certain areas of as many labels as possible you keep on the bar. What we especially like is the inside where the chocolate makers from Brooklyn also reveal a lot about the trade in cocoa. Direct trade, transparent. So you can read where exactly the cocoa comes from, and what exactly they paid for it ($ 40 per kilo in 2018). Excellent.
