Zotter has always made their Labooko origin series as two chocolates of 35 grams each, 70 grams in total, in one package.
They are now cleverly using that concept to offer two different chocolates in a single pack.
In this set: Tanzania 75% and Uganda 70%.
This lets you taste two African cocoa chocolates side by side, and explore the similarities and differences between them.
It’s a very nice set and a super accessible way to do a tasting. We think it’s great that Zotter offers chocolates like this, especially because it can also encourage new chocolate lovers to slow down a bit, taste more attentively, and start noticing the differences between chocolates with similar cocoa percentages but different origins and processing methods. This way you can gradually learn how complex chocolate can be. That there’s no such thing as “the” chocolate taste. And that leads to a much deeper experience. In our experience, once you start noticing this, you naturally become more interested in chocolate and cocoa: the production process, how cocoa is grown, fermented after harvest, and dried. And you also gain (if you didn’t already have it) a lot of respect for the people who make something this delicious possible.
