Description
An oat milk chocolate with absolutely no added sugars!
Zotter already made two sugar-free milk chocolates (70% sugar-free and 80% milk sugar-free), but now there is also a beautiful oat milk variant. Perfect for those who prefer to avoid cow’s milk—whether for a (sometimes or always) plant-based lifestyle, or simply to try something new.
We think it’s great that chocolates like this are being made, allowing even milk chocolate lovers—who enjoy a creamy taste in their chocolate—to choose a completely sugar-free option. Personally, we usually stick to dark chocolate from 70% to 100% and only enjoy these kinds of chocolates occasionally, but we are happy to offer them because we know many people appreciate milk chocolate in all its varieties. This is a particularly special one, simply because a sugar-free milk chocolate made with oat milk is something you don’t come across very often.
From the makers: “A vegan bar with 60% cocoa content and 40% oat drink instead of milk, without added sugar. Traditionally, milk chocolate contains sugar, but in this creation we completely remove it and focus purely on the harmony of cocoa and oat drink, which naturally has an astonishing sweetness. This is a vegan, mildly sweet milk chocolate alternative with a very high cocoa content.
Flavor notes: hints of citrus fruit, gingerbread and leafy herbs.”
Ingredients: cocoa mass, oat drink powder (40%: fermented oats), cocoa butter.
Allergy note: contains oats. May contain traces of all types of nuts, peanuts, milk, soy and sesame.
Contents: 70 grams. Vegan, organic, fair, bean to bar.

I don’t really know how to rate this. On one hand, it’s exactly as described..an oat milk chocolate. You do get the sour and bready notes but the ginger and herbal notes are missing. And the sourness is quite weird..which is likely due to the fermentation of oat milk mixing with the astringent cacao. The chocolate also leaves an after taste like I ate a spoonful of oat powder. Perhaps going the extra mile and adding candied ginger would’ve been nice in the bar. Well if not that, something else like oils or vanilla to mask the unwanted aromas/notes. Love my usual zotter milk bars, but this one doesn’t do it for me sadly.
